1. Social Sports Guidance and Management

(1) Training goals

The major aims to cultivate applied talents who master the basic theories of social sports; are capable of offering fitness exercise guidance, planning and organizing popular sports activities, and managing the sports industry; and are competent for social sports-related jobs.

(2) Professional proficiency requirements

Students of this major shall learn the basic theories of social sports guidance and management; receive basic training in organization and management, sports skills, health guidance, and other aspects required for social sports activities; and through systematic learning and training gain specialized knowledge, skills, and comprehensive proficiency in social sports guidance and management.

After having received systematic education and training, graduates of this major shall be equipped with the following knowledge and capabilities:

1. Mastery of basic theories and knowledge of physical education and sociology required for social sports guidance and management;

2. Mastery of techniques and practice methods of physical fitness and exercises;

3. Familiarity with our country’s guidelines, policies, and regulations related to sports activities;

4. Understanding of the frontier theories and development needs of social sports activities;

5. Capability of creative thinking;

6. Skills of consultation, technical guidance, organization and management, fitness services, and social surveys relevant to social sports, and capability of being engaged in sports teaching, sports training and competitions, sports science research, sports activities organization and planning, and sports skills guidance as well as other specific tasks in schools at all levels, research institutes, and sports-related enterprises.

(3) Main disciplines and courses

1. Main disciplines: Physical Education, Sociology, and Management.

2. Main courses: Sports Sociology, Sports Psychology, Sports Management, Introduction to Social Sports, Sports Anatomy, Sports Physiology, Sports Science Research Methods, Community Sports, and Sports Event Theory and Practice.

3. Main practical modules: practice as community sports instructors, practice in sports clubs, professional entrepreneurship social research, graduation internship, academic year theses, and graduation thesis (design).

4. Main experiments: sports anatomy, sports physiology, fitness evaluation and exercise prescription, and sports nutrition and health care. etc.

(4) Characteristics and directions

Characteristics: The major highlights the connection between theory and practice, and lays great emphasis on practice. It stresses industry-university-research cooperation and a talent training model featuring diversity, strong comprehensive competitiveness, and outstanding innovation.

Directions: There are two directions for this major, including social sports competition organization and management, and popular sports fitness guidance.

 


2. Sports Training

(1) Training goals

The major aims to cultivate versatile talents who master the basic theories and methods of specialized sports teaching, training, and competition; possess strong specialized sports skills, and the capability of offering sports training guidance and organizing competitions; and are capable of specialized sports teaching, training, and competition organizing.

(2) Professional proficiency requirements

Students of this major shall learn the basic theories and knowledge of competitive sports; receive basic training in sports training, competition, and teaching; and through systematic learning and training gain professional knowledge and skills required for sports teaching, sports training, and competition organizing and refereeing in universities, middle and elementary schools.

After having received systematic education and training, graduates of this major shall be equipped with the following knowledge and capabilities:

1. Mastery of basic theories and methods of specialized sports training, teaching, competition, and management;

2. Proficiency in the techniques, exercises, and teaching methods of 1-2 sports;

3. Familiarity with our country’s guidelines, policies, and regulations on competitive sports;

4. Understanding of the frontier theories of sports training, competition, and sports training management.

5. Capability of preliminary scientific research in competitive sports, and capability of critical thinking.

6. Basic and practical skills of specialized sports training, teaching, event organization and management, refereeing, etc.; and the capability of being engaged in teaching, training, competitive talents selection and training, sports event arbitration, planning, organizing, and managing in schools and social sports organizations.

(3) Main disciplines and courses

1. Main disciplines: Physical Education, Pedagogy, Management, and Psychology;

2. Main courses: Sports Training, Sports Anatomy, Sports Physiology, Sports Sociology, Sports Psychology, Sports Management, Sports Competitions, School Physical Education, and Theory and Practice of Various Sports Events.

3. Main practical modules: sports team (university) survey, practice as referees, professional entrepreneurship social research, graduation internship, academic year theses, and graduation thesis (design).

4. Main experiments: sports anatomy, sports physiology, sports biomechanics, sports health care and rehabilitation, and physical fitness measurement and evaluation.

(4) Characteristics and directions

Characteristics: The major highlights the connection between theory and practice, and lays great emphasis on practice. It stresses the integration of teaching, training, and competition. It emphasizes the development of advantageous projects while also prioritizing the development of distinctive projects. It aims to develop talents with multiple skills.

Directions: There are seven major directions, including track and field, basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, table tennis, and swimming.
